The song “Marry Me” by train, involves a man that sees a girl and declares confidently to himself, "She's the one!" Train's romantic ballad "Marry Me" has the message of love and dedication as its main message. The singer's wish to live out the rest of his days with the person he loves is expressed in the song's lyrics, as well as the measures he is prepared to do to show that commitment. The meaning of this song can be interpreted in a variety of ways, but in my opinion, He wants to wed the girl and spend the rest of their lives together. It seems that they have been together for so long that they wouldn't understand what it would be like to live without one another. And that they shouldn't worry about anyone because they won't be aware of the whole truth. Although they are stylistically, contextually, and historically distinct, the poems "To My Dear and Loving Husband" by Anne Bradstreet and the song "Marry Me" by Tr

The Story of The Lazy Man (Reflection)

 I started this semester of on a bad note. I was going through a bad phase, and it was very hard to get through it. Not saying I got past it, and everything is well right now, but it is getting better, and it is much different then how it was before. Starting the semester off terribly, already missing assignments and not being able to come to classes. I was missing classes; I was struggling to get out of bed and out of my room, but I was still trying my hardest to make it to class. My absences for this semester maybe at an all-time high but now it is the end of the semester, and I am just happy I got my work complete, and I made it past this semester after a rough start.  I enjoyed class a lot this semester, after a bad start it was not hard to catch up to all the lost work and gain back some momentum so I can make up on my lost grades. Professor made the class very interesting and a happy place. The classroom was filled with positive energy and a happy mindset from the professor and a

SHORT STORY UNIT {THEME ANALYSIS}

 Every individual in the world has their own ability to decide how much control they want of their lives, but in certain circumstances fate does not let you decide on your life. We live in world right now where there is free will, free will gives us the ability to shape our own lives through our actions and our decisions. There are some things that will always be out of our control but in most circumstances, we hold the power to shape our own futures. There was once a time when there was no free will, and everything was left up to fate. Fast forward, the difference between fate and free will is that fate is predetermined and there is no outrunning your fate, but you can change your free will with the decisions you make.  In the story Children of the Sea, there is not many options for free will. The people in the story are being abused and attacked by the soldiers. It is like fate in the story more than free will because, the country Haiti at the time is filled poverty and lack of educa

3 FAVORITE LECTURES

Image
 Children of the Sea Presentation We did a group presentation about the story Children of the sea. I enjoyed that lecture a lot because it was fun to work with my peers and we got a lot of work done. We talked about the story, answered the questions about the story. I gained the knowledge of working with my peers. The story Children of the Sea was very interesting and learning about the story of the soldiers abusing the people, and how the people felt about the soldiers. This story showed us the feeling of sympathy because we felt bad on the things they were facing.  A Streetcar Named Desire Fishbowl  We did a fishbowl about the story a streetcar named desire; it was very interesting because this story is pretty dark and it is hard to read it. In the fishbowl we talked about everyone's point of view and how they felt about the story. I enjoyed this fishbowl because I was able to communicate with my peers and listen to their opinions and point of views which shows me the type of peo

Balance of Power (Paper 1)

 People not being treated equally based on their gender is called gender inequality. Gender inequality can happen both ways for both men and gender, but it is more common with women because there has always been a thought that men were the dominant gender, and they are more dominant than women. Even in history men have always been seen as the upper dominant figure, and even till this day there are people who believe men is dominant and women should listen to men. Compared to how things used to be in the past, things have gotten much better. There has been a lot of progress made on gender equality with a lot of laws being passed. It is a good thing that gender equality is starting to get better because if one gender group is getting better opportunities to succeed in life and is given more priority than the other group then society will never achieve true peace and success. Women have always been considered more of the family caregivers and men have always been given the harde

Fear of Love ( Instead Of PUB 1)

Image
 Love and fear are the two most powerful emotions in the world, they are often intertwined. Love is the most beautiful thing in the world but at the same time it is the most scariest thing in the world. Love requires us to be vulnerable, it brings out your weakest side. Fear can prevent us from experiencing love fully. If you cannot get past the fear of love and acknowledge how beautiful love can be and the joy and happiness it will bring you. Love can be very scary, and it opens us to the possibility of getting hurt. Once you get during that time, you will experience the worst type of pain. Heartbreak is a very difficult emotion to deal with, but it is natural and everyone in the world experiences heartbreak atleast once. It is important to focus on yourself after a heartbreak. You need time to grieve and process your emotions and face the emotions you were once afraid to face. Heartbreak is temporary, eventually as time goes on you will heal and move on. Fear of love, love makes you

Honesty or Loyalty to Family (PUB 2)

  Everyone says that family is like the most important thing the world, without your family you cannot be happy and live your life fully because a person's family is like the support system to someone and its very important to have a support system. In the play A streetcar named desire, it depicts family and shows the pros and cons of everything that happens and could happen in a family. The main characters as in Blanche, Stanley and Stella are the ones that most focused on. Blanche relocating and moving in to live with her sister Stella and Stella's husband Stanley but Blanche has a terrible past that follows her wherever she goes, starting with her failed marriage; her husband killed himself after being caught by Blanche for having an homosexual affair. She suffers with severe alcoholism and is always lying and getting caught in lies by other people about her past. Finding Your Identity (PUB 3)

Post Modernism is a movement, it challenges traditional narrative structures. It has fragmentation and uncertainty. Interpreter of Maladies explores a complex story, it consists of complex themes and identities, struggles and themes of where one belongs. The experiences of the characters in the story show the uncertainty, the struggles within oneself and the relationships between the characters. The post modernism perspective in this story is the complex human relationships between the characters. Mrs. Das struggles with a lot of dissatisfaction and unhappiness in her life. She is very unhappy with her life and very unhappy in her marriage and does not feel in sync with her own children. She struggles with the feeling of regret, shame and guilt over a past affair she had in the past with another man. In the story, she struggles with uncertainty because she is trying very hard to find her meaning in life and find her place in the world. She is trying to find her sense of belo
