3 FAVORITE LECTURES
Children of the Sea Presentation
We did a group presentation about the story Children of the sea. I enjoyed that lecture a lot because it was fun to work with my peers and we got a lot of work done. We talked about the story, answered the questions about the story. I gained the knowledge of working with my peers. The story Children of the Sea was very interesting and learning about the story of the soldiers abusing the people, and how the people felt about the soldiers. This story showed us the feeling of sympathy because we felt bad on the things they were facing.
A Streetcar Named Desire Fishbowl
We did a fishbowl about the story a streetcar named desire; it was very interesting because this story is pretty dark and it is hard to read it. In the fishbowl we talked about everyone's point of view and how they felt about the story. I enjoyed this fishbowl because I was able to communicate with my peers and listen to their opinions and point of views which shows me the type of people they are. As for the story, it was very sad listening to Blanche's past and everything that had happened to her. It was upsetting to hear how her sister's husband treated her. This story is full of twists and turns and it shows us how people can be.
Power of Poetry
"Poetry serves many purposes, you perfect language through poetry. Reading and writing can be perfected. When we read and write poetry we advance in our emotional intelligence. Poetry is meant to be felt and heard; it is meant to be spoken. We connect to our human spirit through poetry. It is an emotional and spiritual language that connects people. We understand human conditions, it creates empathy - Professor Brady". This is one of my favorite lectures because poetry is very beautiful, it shows you and teaches you a lot of things and poetry teaches you to be empathetic. It shows you how to relate and understand others. It lets you seek deeper meaning in words and sentences. Poetry from this lecture shows me different perspectives that I enjoy understanding and learning.
